Musée Océanographique is part of the Oceanographic Institute in Monaco. The huge building, located at Rocher de Monaco - the Rock of Monaco is home to the oceanographic museum, several exhibition spaces, the aquarium in Monaco, the museum shop and a rooftop restaurant and terrace with amazing view of the sea. The Aquarium at the basement displays the Mediterranean and tropical aquatic life where the largest tank, the shark tank and coral reef, holds over 450.000 litres of water and is over 6 meters deep The museum and aquarium is open every day, all year except 25 December and the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend (in may).
