The port in Monaco, known as Port Hercule is one of the few deep- water ports of the French Riviera. This is one of the reasons why you will find so many huge and impressive yachts here. As a cruise tourist who arrives by a tender, you get an extra nice view of the port on your way in and get really close to many of the largest yachts, which normally is docked at the outer port. (Our video to the right gives you a taste of this amazing view). The cruise terminal is at the long pier south-east in the harbour (shown in the map) We recommend to walk along the piers from the cruise terminal, then you have much better time to look at all the boats - that is, if you are interested… The further in you get, the smaller the boats - but there are still many cool design gems. Another way to explore Port Hercule is by spending 2 euros on the Bateau Bus - the electric ferry that brings you across the harbour in a couple of minutes - and if you are really interested, you can take it a couple of roundtrips. The Bateau Bus stops close to Yacht Club de Monaco. Here are several restaurants/cafes at the lower floor with view of the port (whre you don’t have to be a member to access).
